Uvalde High School Swim Team competed in the Alamo Area High School Swim League Invitational #3 held at the George Block Aquatics Center!

Uvalde High School Swim Team competed in the Alamo Area High School Swim League I​nvitational #3 held at the George Block Aquatics Center in San Antonio on Saturday, October 14, 2017. Swim team members Kendall Zimmerman, Abby Carnes, Nico Salazar, George Alamillo, Alaina Sosa, George Garza, and Delicia Campos represented Uvalde at their first swim meet of the season led by Coach Lauren Dorazio. 
Kendall Zimmerman placed 12th in the women's 50 yard freestyle (34.01) and 10th in the women's 100 yard freestyle (1:18.82). Abby Carnes placed 13th in the women's 100 yard freestyle (1:21.62) and 14th in the women's 100 yard breast stroke (1:51.33). George Alamillo placed 10th in the men's 50 yard freestyle (30.82) and 16th in the men's 100 yard freestlye (1:16.61). Nico Salazar placed 12th in the men's 50 yard freestyle (31.54) and 15th in the men's 100 yard freestyle (1:12.90). 
Three swimmers competed in the sub-varsity events for their first swim meet competition. Delicia Campos place 4th in the women's sub-varsity 50 yard freestyle (37.49), Alaina Sosa placed 3rd in the women's sub-varsity 50 yard freestyle (36.53), George Garza place 9th in the men's sub-varsity 50 yard freestyle (42.25) and placed 5th in the men's sub-varsity 100 yard freestyle (1:28.20). 
​ ​The women combined for the women's 200 yard freestyle relay recording a time of 2:24.19 which resulted in 7th place. A great start for the first relay together! 
The next meet will be on November 2, 2017 at the San Antonio Natatorium.
