Karina Dariela Garcia



Karina is the daughter of Guadalupe and Irma Garcia. Karina will be completing her associate’s degree from Southwest Texas Junior College next spring and plans to transfer at that time to Texas A&M University at College Station. She plans to pursue a degree in Biomedical Science and Mechanical Engineering. Karina is a member of the National Honor Society. She has received an Award of Excellence from the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists. She represented Uvalde at the Academy in Massachusetts. She also received a 2017 Presidential Inauguration Youth Leadership Congress Medal of Achievement. She has also been involved in the high school Spanish club, TRIO, mariachi and Academic U.I.L. programs. She played on the tennis team during her freshman year. She has volunteered her time as a tutor with the St. Henry de Osso Family Project and as a teaching assistant in her church. She also served as secretary for the Beautification Leaders of Uvalde organization.
