Larissa Rodriguez

Larissa Rodriguez completes the list of top ten graduates.  She is the daughter of Jose A. and Karen Rodriguez.  She is currently undecided about her college choice, weighing offers from both Schreiner University and the University of Texas at Austin.

She plans to pursue a program in biochemistry, aiming for a career as a pediatric cardiologist. She has already earned certification as a nurse’s aide through a high school program.  She has also been a BPA national qualifier and has been a regional qualifier in academic UIL contests.  She has served as co-president of the UHS choir and has been a state choir competitor.

Her high school career has also been a varied one.  She is a veteran of two years on the tennis team, a member of the mariachi band and the National High School Top Scholars Society.  She also spent time coaching at summer junior tennis camp.

Rodriguez has worked after school at a local fast food restaurant since the age of 16, and has been working the past year as a certified nurse assistant at a local nursing facility.  She has also volunteered at the facility, hosting bingo and providing nail care for residents.
