Salutatorian Allison R. Dungo

Allison R. Dungo is the daughter of Nelson and Leah Dungo.  She was most recently involved in orchestrating the “Think Twice” mock drunk driving accident on the high school campus, as a message to students who were headed to prom festivities.  She not only played the role as the offending driver, but also edited the video production that aired the following morning.

She is undecided about her college of choice at the moment, but will be pursuing a program in computer engineering. Dungo has been offered academic excellence scholarships from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), the University of Houston and Illinois Institute of Technology.

She has served her student body as class president three years in high school and as an officer in the Student Council, including a year as president.  She  has competed in academic UIL contests , capturing a sixth place in district spelling her freshman year.  She was a top performer in BPA contests as a state qualifier for two years and a national qualifier her junior year.

Dungo has been a visible member of the band, serving on the drum line and with the Caribbean-style steel band.  She is a state qualifier and will compete at the end of May for the solo and ensemble contest with the steel band.  She has collected numerous  awards over her four years in high school as a member of the marching, jazz, jazz combo Shades of Blue and steel bands. And she added varsity soccer to her experience as a sophomore.

Her involvement in the community includes volunteer service at Uvalde Memorial Hospital and the Food Pantry.
